Overview

Travel assignment in Olathe, Kansas. Start date: 08/02/2026. Length: 13 weeks. Shift: 3x12-hour Nights. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. Employment type: Travel - Temporary Assignment. This role supports a Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care environment and requires Kansas RN licensure and BLS.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor telemetry patients and interpret cardiac rhythms; recognize and respond to arrhythmias per unit protocol
  • Administer prescribed medications and manage cardiac therapies, including common cardiac drips and antiarrhythmic initiation as outlined by protocol
  • Support post-procedure care, including TR Band management and hemodynamic monitoring; collaborate with the cardiology team as needed
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EPIC electronic medical record; ensure accuracy and timely communication with the care team
  • Provide patient and family education relevant to telemetry care and medications; uphold patient safety and quality standards
  • Participate in unit orientation and adhere to hospital policies, including infection prevention and patient privacy practices

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Kansas (KS RN) and BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry experience; 2-5 years of TEL experience preferred
  • Experience with cardiac drips (e.g., Heparin, Cardizem, Lasix, etc.) and initiation processes for Tikosyn/Sotalol
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced acute care setting
  • Proficiency with EPIC or similar EMR systems
  • Credentialing prerequisites: CBC, DS, and related lab work completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
