Key Highlights
- Weekly pay: $2,116–$2,250 per week
- Guaranteed hours: 0
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Start date: August 10, 2026
- Schedule: 36 hours per week following orientation; no guarantee of hours beyond that
- Setting: 15-bed PCU with telemetry, plus 3-step down ICU and 12 telemetry beds in an acute care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care to PCU and telemetry patients, including assessments, care planning, and ongoing evaluations
- Maintain readiness to float to other acute units (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER) as needed to support patient care operations
- Monitor telemetry, read strips, and perform fingerstick blood glucose as required
- Administer medications using Meditech electronic charting; utilize Pyxis for medication distribution; operate BIPAP as needed
- Care coordination with an interdisciplinary team, adjusting plans based on patient response, and educating patients and families about conditions and discharge expectations
- Document accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record; maintain compliance with charting standards and safety protocols
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
- Minimum 1 year hospital acute care experience within the last year
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
- Certifications: ACLS preferred; PALS preferred; NIHSS certification preferred
- Ability to float to all acute units in-house (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER)
- Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health clearance
