About the role
This is a Registered Nurse, PCU travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California, starting on August 3, 2026, for 13 weeks. The position supports care in an inpatient step-down unit and is represented by CNA.
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in the step-down unit, including care planning and reassessment
- Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and monitor for life-threatening emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitor responses, and document changes
- Supervise and delegate care to ancillary personnel (e.g., CNAs) consistent with their scope of practice
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (California) or equivalent licensure per jurisdiction
- Demonstrated ability to interpret ECG rhythms and manage acute care needs
- Ability to work nights and maintain flexibility with a 3x12-hour schedule
- Experience in a step-down, telemetry, or related acute care setting preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills; capable of working in a fast-paced inpatient environment

Pay
The weekly pay range is $1,985–$2,061 per week, for 36 hours per week, working 3x12-hour nights.
