Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to adults, adolescents, and older adults with medical conditions within a medical-surgical service

  • Assess patient and family needs, develop an individualized plan of care with the interdisciplinary team, and monitor progress

  • Administer medications, perform routine procedures, and ensure infection prevention standards are followed

  • Educate patients and families about self-care, disease management, and discharge planning to support continuity of care at home

  • Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses; participate in quality improvement activities and professional development

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, peers, and other members of the health care team; advocate for patient safety and comfort

Requirements

  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license

  • BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI preferred), NIHSS certification

  • Minimum 2 years of med/surg nursing experience

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment and participate in a rotating 3x12 shift schedule, including holidays

  • Eligibility to work in the United States; willingness to adhere to unit standards and hospital policies
