Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to adults, adolescents, and older adults with medical conditions within a medical-surgical service
Assess patient and family needs, develop an individualized plan of care with the interdisciplinary team, and monitor progress
Administer medications, perform routine procedures, and ensure infection prevention standards are followed
Educate patients and families about self-care, disease management, and discharge planning to support continuity of care at home
Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses; participate in quality improvement activities and professional development
Communicate effectively with physicians, peers, and other members of the health care team; advocate for patient safety and comfort
Requirements
Current NYS Registered Nurse license
BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI preferred), NIHSS certification
Minimum 2 years of med/surg nursing experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment and participate in a rotating 3x12 shift schedule, including holidays
Eligibility to work in the United States; willingness to adhere to unit standards and hospital policies
