Travel temporary assignment for a Long Length of Stay / Acute Med-Surg RN in Olympia, Washington.
About the role
Assignment includes floating to like med-surg units as needed in a hospital setting with short-term acute care services. Local residents within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel assignment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adults and geriatrics in med-surg/long length of stay settings; manage complex care needs and behavioral considerations
- Administer medications and treatments (including wound care/Wound VAC, feeding-tube care, IV/port care, blood products, oxygen, drain management)
- Monitor patient status; respond to changes in condition; document in the electronic medical record
- Coordinate with physicians, case management, PT/OT, respiratory, pharmacy, and social services
- Assist with mobility and activities of daily living using lifts and mobility equipment; support rehabilitation and discharge planning
- Ensure patient safety and comfort; manage dementia/behavioral health needs; provide family education and updates
- Function as a unit resource and, when assigned, act as a charge nurse to support patient flow and care coordination
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience in med-surg/acute care
- BLS certification required
- Ability to float to like med-surg units within skill set; not mid-shift
- Completion of pre-start training and annual compliance modules (approximately 16 hours; >20 hours requires approval); orientation of about 12 hours
- Two references covering 1 year within the last 3 years (required during compliance)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Traveler status with residency outside a 50-mile radius
Pay
Weekly pay range: $2,074–$2,149.
Schedule
3x12-hour days. Start date: 09/09/2026.
