Travel assignment starting 09/14/2026 for 13 weeks in Templeton, California.
About the role
This unit-based leadership role supports patient care across an acute care environment in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital. You will collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, and ancillary staff to optimize care delivery on a 3x12 night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). Extension opportunities may be discussed based on performance and unit needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide unit-based leadership, collaborating with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and staff to optimize care delivery.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing and ancillary personnel, applying professional judgment and supervisory discretion.
- Ensure cost-effective, professional care that supports positive patient outcomes and high safety standards.
- Assess patient care needs and revise care plans; lead conferences with health team members, patients, and families as needed.
- Direct and monitor personnel performing patient care activities; participate in direct patient care as needed.
- Foster a patient- and family-centered care environment, with attention to cultural diversity and individual needs; conduct rounds to oversee care and engage patients and families.
- Investigate and resolve patient care and operational issues; collaborate with leadership to improve patient experience and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse in California (current in good standing).
- BSN required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum two years of recent nursing experience in the field; supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS and PALS (AHA/ARC) required.
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care setting; night-shift schedule with 3x12 hours per week.
Pay
Weekly pay ranges from $1,677 to $1,829.
Schedule
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
- 13-week contract duration.
- 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM).
