About the Role

This position supports inpatient rehabilitation services in a hospital-based Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) environment. Under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, you will provide care to adult patients with medically complex needs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver PTA services under direct supervision of a PT to adult inpatient rehabilitation patients in an LTAC setting.
  • Implement and progress treatment plans, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and functional activities as prescribed; monitor patient responses.
  • Assist with gait training, transfers, range of motion (ROM), strengthening, endurance programs, and activity tolerance to support functional goals.
  • Document observations, progress notes, and daily treatment summaries; communicate changes to the supervising PT and care team.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (nursing, OT, speech therapy, case management) to coordinate care, ensure safety, and support discharge planning.
  • Maintain patient safety, infection control, equipment care, and compliance with privacy regulations and facility policies.

Requirements

  • Active PTA license through the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health.
  • CPR/AED certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of PTA experience.
  • Ability to work in a hospital-based LTAC inpatient rehabilitation environment.

Preferred: PTA outpatient hospital experience.

Pay

Weekly pay ranges from $1,445 to $1,457, with guaranteed 40 hours per week on an 8-hour shift.

Schedule

  • Contract duration: 13 weeks.
  • Shift: 8-hour days.
  • Start date: October 5, 2026.
