for a 13-week travel assignment in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide PTA support under the supervision of a physical therapist, following the approved plan of care.
- Aid in therapeutic activities, exercises, gait training, and modalities to improve mobility, strength, and balance.
- Maintain patient responses to treatment, document progress, and communicate changes to the supervising PT and care team.
- Support patient transfers, positioning, and safe mobility techniques; maintain patient safety and infection control practices.
- Educate patients and families on exercises, safety considerations, and appropriate home programs.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
Requirements
- Active PTA license or eligibility in Mississippi (per state requirements).
- PTA credential from an accredited program or equivalent education.
- Experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or LTAC settings preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in an LTAC environment and adapt to patient needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach.
