Responsibilities
- Implement components of patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist; obtain data related to treatments and collaborate with the PT to modify care as needed
- Assist the Physical Therapist in the treatment of individuals across all ages, including newborns to end-of-life, as part of LTAC scope
- Help patients stretch and exercise targeted muscle groups; move patients from wheelchairs or walkers to the therapy area; support safe transfers and mobility
- Read and follow instructions from the Physical Therapist; document treatment progress and communicate findings to the PT and families as appropriate
- Educate patients and families on techniques that support at-home care, balance training, and safe movement; keep the therapy space clean and organized; perform related administrative tasks (scheduling and paperwork) as needed
Requirements
- Active PTA license in Missouri (State Licenses: Missouri) and BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience; LTC or Rehab experience required
- Ability to read and follow Physical Therapist instructions; comfortable working in a LTAC/Skilled Nursing setting
- Must be able to participate in a 5x8 day shift schedule for the 13-week assignment
- Submission at the posted rate; if the requested rate is higher, candidacies will be redirected
