Travel Observation Unit Registered Nurse - $2,362 per week

About the role

Voca Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN DOU - Direct Observation Unit for a 13-week assignment starting on July 27, 2026, lasting 36 hours per week, with a 12-hour shift during the day.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct observation of patients under the supervision of licensed nurses.
• Assist with patient care activities including medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with treatments.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with other healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and observations.

Requirements

• Current licensure as an RN in the state of Illinois.
• At least one year of recent acute care experience preferred.
• Experience with Direct Observation Units (DOUs).
• Knowledge of infection control practices and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current BLS certification.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR).
