About the role
PRN Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN DOU - Direct Observation Unit for a travel nursing job in Urbana, Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct observation care to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Assess patient needs and document observations accurately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor vital signs and report changes to supervising physician.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois.
- Experience in Direct Observation Units preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
Qualifications
- Passing scores on the NCLEX-RN exam.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Skills
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.

Pay
Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
