Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $3,045 per week

Job Summary

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit care in Morgantown, West Virginia. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to higher acuity neuroscience patients, including stroke, seizure, and neurology cases, within a neuro stepdown and epilepsy monitoring unit. The nurse will work night shifts to support patient needs during this high-acuity area.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Minimum of 48 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• Valid nursing license
• BLS Certification
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of neuro nursing experience
• EPIC electronic health record experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with stroke, TPA management, titration of drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, Insulin
• Strong neuro background
• NIHS in hand at time of submission

Unit Specifics

• Neuro stepdown and epilepsy monitoring
• Patient ratios 1:3 for stepdown, 1:5-6 for EMU
• RT available 24/7
• Monitor tech support
• Nurse aides per shift

Certifications

• BLS and NIHSS are required
• ACLS preferred

Shifts and Scheduling

• Nights, 3 on/4 off schedule
• May include weekend rotations and holiday shifts
• Requires flexibility

Additional Information

• Scrub color is royal blue
• Orientation includes 2 shifts on the unit
• Gowning policies and float requirements may vary
• Patient acuity includes neuro patients with high-level care needs

Submission Requirements

• Willing to wait for license verification
• No prior experience minimum beyond required 2 years
• Open to candidates with EPIC experience

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
