About the role
This role involves working in a high-volume, high-acuity environment supporting maternal and neonatal care in Seattle, Washington. The position requires clinical expertise in obstetrics, including functioning as a Baby Nurse during deliveries and providing continuous newborn care until transfer to postpartum.
Responsibilities
- Circulate during deliveries
- Perform neonatal assessments
- Administer eyes and thigh injections and Vitamin K injections
- Manage high-risk obstetric procedures such as Cesarean sections, epidurals, and postpartum hemorrhage
- Adhere to AWHONN guidelines and clinical protocols
- Float to sister units supporting postpartum or mother/baby care as needed
- Work during holidays (pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis)
Requirements
- Valid state RN license with a compact license in hand
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in high-acuity obstetric care
- Current supervisory references
- BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications (AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate preferred)
- 2 years of experience in high-acuity environments
- Clinical expertise in electronic fetal monitoring and neonatal care
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS certification
- AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
- Experience with Epic electronic fetal monitoring system
- High-risk delivery experience
