About the role
The IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) position supports the float team during night shifts in a healthcare facility in Plattsburgh, New York. The role requires adaptability to meet the unit's operational needs. This assignment starts on September 7, 2026, and may last between 13 to 20 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Support the float team in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
- Adapt to operational needs of the unit during night shifts
- Manage patient care involving telemetry, insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV starts, and post-cardiac catheterization
- Utilize Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system
Requirements
- Valid NY RN license or proof of application with applied date (processing time is 6-8 weeks)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification prior to start
- Minimum of 1 year telemetry (tele) nursing experience
- Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, starting IVs, and post-cardiac catheterization
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
- Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type required for submission
- Explanation of any employment gaps over 90 days
- Reliable transportation strongly recommended, including personal or rental vehicles during November through April

- Assignment duration: 13-20 weeks
- Start date: September 7, 2026 (ASAP)
- No block schedules permitted
- Bi-weekly orientations planned on Mondays
- Float rotation may be required
