• Shift: 12 hours, nights (straight night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; 12-hour shifts available 0700-1930 and 1900-0730)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Navy scrubs required for RNs
• Charting system: Cerner
• Orientation includes 1 day of computer-based training and hospital orientation, followed by 1-2 days of on-shift orientation
• Call or standby requirement possible if census is low; cancellations are rare
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

Facility Information

This acute care facility operates a 20-bed unit encompassing MS, ICU, and IMC departments, providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population. The facility treats a wide range of conditions including cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, GI, GU, orthopedic, and pediatric cases, with access to advanced respiratory therapy equipment and around-the-clock RT support. The organization is committed to high-quality patient care and maintains robust staffing structures to support both staff and patients effectively.

Requirements

• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS, NIHSS
• ICU or Pediatrics experience preferred
• Must be able to titrate drips including Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, PCA Fentanyl, Propofol, and Norepinephrine
• Must be able to read cardiac rhythm strips and report findings to providers as needed
• Floating required within the facility to ED, UC, and PACU as needed, as well as to interfacility locations

Support & Ratios

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: MS 1:5 days / 1:6 nights, IMC 1:4, ICU 1:2, Pediatrics 1:3-4
• CNA support available at 1:8-10 ratio for days and nights
• Tele monitoring conducted remotely by tele techs using GE ApexPro CH monitors
• Respiratory therapy support available 24/7 with equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U ventilators, and Hamilton ventilators
• Charge nurses take patient assignments; House Supervisor rounds throughout building without an assignment
