About the role

Director of Nursing (DON) position in Conrad, MT in a long-term care setting. Patient population includes LTC residents, geriatrics, and secured dementia care unit residents. Orientation provided up to 2 weeks based on experience and comfort level. EMR: PointClickCare.

• Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 8-hour variable schedule (typically 0800-1700, may vary based on department needs)
• May assist with patient assignments during staffing shortages
• Weekend rotation may be required 1–2 times per month based on facility needs
• On-call responsibilities may vary and are shared through a rotation with leadership
• Holiday coverage may vary based on facility needs
• Must be comfortable working in a rural healthcare setting

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing operations within a long-term care setting
• Perform rounding, gather staff feedback, and support resident care initiatives
• Leadership duties including conflict resolution, staff coaching, and team engagement

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent Director of Nursing (DON) experience required
• First-time travelers accepted with previous DON experience
• Active nursing license required
• BLS certification required
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Knowledge of Montana nursing home regulations preferred (training available if needed)
• Experience working with long-term care and geriatric populations preferred
• Must be adaptable and able to support staffing needs when required
