About the Role
Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) position in Madison, WI. This highly specialized role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of neurology, neurosurgical, and stroke conditions within a neuroscience critical care unit. The position requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to perform complex interventions, working as part of a dynamic and expert team committed to providing exceptional neurovascular care.
Schedule
Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 1900 to 0730, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Manage vasoactive drips and hemodynamic monitoring
- Perform neuro assessments
- Utilize specialized equipment such as CereLink monitors and lumbar drains
- Pass a strict telemetry test prior to start, with specific identification of lethal rhythms
- Float as needed within the hospital
Requirements
- Valid Wisconsin (WI) registered nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license
- At least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in neurocritical care
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with ICU and IMC patient populations
- Effective management of arterial lines, central lines, ventilators, and neuro-specific procedures such as EVDs and lumbar drains
Certifications
ACLS and BLS from AHA only.
