Travel Neuro ICU RN - $2,190 per week

Job Summary

The Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) registered nurse position is located in Wausau, Wisconsin. The role involves providing specialized neuro critical care on a 12-hour day shift in a dedicated Neuro ICU. The nurse will deliver assessments and basic bedside ICU procedures to neurology patients, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgical cases, while managing complex neuro monitoring devices. The position offers a contract length of 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible.

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin registered nurse license
• BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• NIHSS certification
• Associate Degree or Certificate
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
• With at least one prior travel assignment preferred
• Background in Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and/or Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Strong assessment skills in neurological care
• Experience with EPIC charting
• Familiarity with EVDs and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as Neuro Interventionalist
• Knowledge of bolt and drain bedside placements

Additional Information

• The unit is an 8-bed Neuro ICU with patients including stroke, traumatic brain injury, head injury, and neurosurgical cases
• Excellent assessment skills and resilience are required
• The nurse may float between Neuro Critical Care and Medical/Surgical ICU units, with the possibility of floating to other inpatient units

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
