Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Long Term Care Job

Travel assignment in a 42-bed skilled nursing setting located in Newark, New York. The facility accepts first-time travelers and requires candidates to live more than 75 miles away. EPIC charting is required, with a 16-hour orientation prior to the shift.

About the role

Provide direct nursing care to adults and geriatric residents in a long-term care (LTC) unit. This role involves routine assessments, medication administration, wound care, and support for residents' daily living activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine assessments, monitor vital signs, and track changes in resident condition
  • Administer medications (including IM/SQ), manage basic IV/vascular access, and perform phlebotomy
  • Assist with feeding tubes (NG/G-tube) and provide enteral feeding support
  • Manage Foley catheter care and provide basic respiratory support (oxygen/BiPAP/CPAP as appropriate)
  • Perform wound care, pressure ulcer assessment and prevention
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, mobility, and safety
  • Document care and resident status in the EPIC charting system
  • Communicate changes to the interprofessional team (PT, Social Services, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary)
  • Participate in care planning, daily rounds, and discharge planning
  • Support dementia and behavioral management, de-escalation, and end-of-life care
  • Adhere to unit guidelines, policies, and established patient ratios (Days 1:21 | Nights 1:42 | Weekends 1:21) with floating as needed

Requirements

  • Active New York Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (in hand)
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; geriatric/LTC population experience preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Ability to work the 5x8 evenings shift
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the work site

Pay

Weekly pay: $1,196–$1,246 per week.

Schedule

  • Start date: 08/25/2026
  • Shift: 5x8 evenings
  • Orientation: 16 hours prior to the shift
  • Pre-approved time off: one per contract
  • Block scheduling with occasional floating based on facility needs
