About the role

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Behavioral Health to operate in a day shift setting. This role involves providing quality acute behavioral health care, including crisis stabilization and de-escalation, within a multidisciplinary team. The position offers an engaging environment focused on adult and geriatric patient populations in a safe and collaborative workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality acute behavioral health care, including crisis stabilization and de-escalation, within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Work with a patient ratio of approximately 1:6, in a facility with 12 geriatric beds and 24 adult beds.
  • Float between adult and geriatric units as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in an acute behavioral health setting.
  • Cerner electronic health record experience.
  • Expertise in crisis stabilization including verbal de-escalation and emergency physical intervention skills.
  • Familiarity with diagnoses such as Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Dementia.

Pay

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
