About the role
House Supervisor Level 1 in a hospital setting, located in an organization serving the northern San Luis Obispo County. This role involves providing overall supervision of hospital operations, responding to codes, coordinating patient care, and managing staffing. The position ensures smooth facility function and maintains high standards of patient and staff safety, working collaboratively with clinical personnel and administration.
Schedule
Rotating shifts, 12-hour shift times from 0600 to 1830 with occasional night shifts from 1800 to 0630. Preference for rotating days and nights, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Oversee staff and facilitate patient throughput
- Respond to medical emergencies
- Participate in discharge planning
- Supervise clinical activities across the hospital
- Guide new and existing staff
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws
- Address patient, family, and staff concerns efficiently
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Facility-specific certifications such as AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS, along with ACLS and PALS certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in nursing
- At least one year of experience working in a critical care or emergency department setting
