Job Summary

A registered nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is sought for a high-risk obstetrical unit located in Renton, Washington. This position involves working the night shift in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, providing specialized care for obstetric and neonatal patients. The role requires clinical expertise, leadership, and the ability to support the multidisciplinary team in a dynamic, high-acuity environment.

Job Details

  • Location: Renton, Washington

  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week

  • Start Date: August 17, 2026

Required Qualifications

  • Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

  • Education & Experience: RN license to submit, minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery or high-risk obstetrical care

Operational Details

  • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor responsibilities, including circulating in the operating room and titrating drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Insulin

  • Knowledge of obstetric and neonatal patient management, including active labor and postpartum care

  • Unit features 2 surgical techs and 2 LPNs on days, 1 on nights, with in-house OB/Neonatology and anesthesia 24/7

  • No tele monitoring equipment; RN reading strips via Obix EFM System

  • Scrubs: Navy blue; hospital-provided jackets and scrubs for L&D nurses

  • Floating: May be required to postpartum as needed

Unique Notes

  • Strict adherence to facility policies, including no travel travelers with license hits involving medication diversion or endangerment, which will result in immediate contract cancellation

  • This role supports a diverse patient population in a high-risk obstetrical environment with a level III NICU and 3,600 deliveries annually

  • The unit is designated Baby Friendly and Washington State Breastfeeding Friendly Gold certified with lactation support available seven days a week

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
