About the Role
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Frankfort, Kentucky. The role involves providing specialized nursing care in a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Mother/Baby (MB), and Labor & Delivery (L&D) units within a hospital setting. The RN will support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and labor inductions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety.
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Minimum 36 hours per week
- Duration: 13 weeks, starting 08/17/2026
- Every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights)
Responsibilities
- Providing obstetric, neonatal, and mother/baby care
- Assisting with deliveries, inductions, and use of sterile techniques
- Patient assessment and stabilization as needed
Requirements
- Valid Kentucky or Compact state nursing license
- At least 2 years of hospital-based L&D experience
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications (mandatory)
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of L&D experience
- Experience circulating for cesarean sections
- Proficiency with Alaris pumps, fetal monitors, and EMR systems such as Meditech Expanse and CPN

- Number of Beds: 7 L&D, 14 Mother/Baby, Level 2 NICU/NB Nursery
- Number of Staff: 58 total
- Staff Types:
- Day shift: 6-8 RN, 1 OBT, 1 unit clerk
- Night shift: 5-8 RN, 1 OBT, 1 unit clerk
- Patient Ratios: L&D 2:1, MB 6-8:1, NICU 1-4:1 (acuity dependent)
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, Corometrics 250 fetal monitor, Monica monitor, Ranger fluid warmer

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
