About the role
Travel Nurse RN specializing in Labor and Delivery, responsible for providing comprehensive care to women before, during, and after childbirth. Ensure both medical and emotional needs of patients are met throughout labor and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with procedures such as epidurals, episiotomies, and cesarean preparations
- Monitor labor progress, contractions, and patient breathing techniques
- Check cervical dilation and maintain a clean, safe, and sterile environment for delivery
- Support immediate newborn care and aid delivery staff with necessary instruments and supplies
- Perform patient lifting and mobility tasks, standing and walking for extended periods
- Handle stress effectively and communicate well with patients of diverse backgrounds
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 3 years recent acute care experience
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NRP certification
- AWHONN certification
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Additional certifications may be required
Schedule
- Night shifts, 12 hours per shift
