Pay

$3,126 to $3,323 weekly. Pay includes taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements.

Schedule

  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Nights, 4 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)

Responsibilities & Skills

As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will be expected to perform the following duties and utilize these skills:

  • Assist with vaginal delivery
  • Baby Nurse (“Baby Catcher”)
  • Bladder Distension
  • Breastfeeding Support/lactation support
  • Cesarean Section
  • Circulate for C-section
  • Couplet Care
  • Epidural Anesthesia
  • Foley catheter insertion/management
  • Forceps/vacuum extraction
  • Fundus / lochia / perineum care
  • Hemorrhage/shock management
  • ID/Security Banding
  • Infant Identification
  • Labor & Delivery
  • Magnesium Sulfate therapy
  • Multiple Births
  • Newborn Assessment
  • Newborn hypoglycemia management
  • Pain assessment & management using Opioids and Antihypertensives
  • Assist with high-risk delivery
  • Drawing Venous Blood
  • General Anesthesia
  • Insulin drips
  • IV conscious sedation
  • Neonatal Resuscitation
  • Nitrous Oxide administration
  • Recover C-Section
  • Pitocin (oxytocin) administration
  • Postpartum Hemorrhage management
  • Pregnancy-induced hypertension management
  • Prostaglandins administration
  • Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation
  • Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Starting and maintaining IVs
  • Terbutaline administration
  • Thermoregulation
  • Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • Use of Electric/Manual breast pump
  • Use of External Fetal Monitoring
  • Use of infusion pumps / drips / IV monitoring
  • Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring
  • Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration
  • Vaginal Delivery
  • Wound assessment/care

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Licensure: Active CT License or Compact License
  • Charting System: Experience with Epic
