About the role
A compassionate Hospice RN for a travel assignment to provide end-of-life care in patients' homes or hospice settings.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with care teams
- Administer pain management, medications, and treatments to ensure patient comfort
- Educate and support families and caregivers on symptom management and end-of-life care
- Monitor patient condition changes and adjust interventions accordingly
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and document all care activities accurately
- Ensure compliance with hospice regulations, safety protocols, and best practices
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and loved ones
- Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to infection control and healthcare standards
Requirements
- At least one year of recent RN experience, including six months in hospice
- Valid RN license per state regulations
- BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Skills
- Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and PC use
- Physical ability to move equipment and assist patients
- Effective teamwork, professionalism, and ability to handle pressure
- Adequate visual acuity and sensory communication skills
