About the role

Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a Level 1 trauma setting. This role involves providing acute care to a diverse patient population, including critically ill and trauma patients, in a multi-bay emergency department. The RN will deliver high-quality, experienced bedside care and collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and a multidisciplinary team across varied shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide acute care to patients ranging from newborns to the elderly with a wide variety of complaints, including acute cardiac and trauma cases.
  • Manage critical care duties, including vasopressor drips, cardiac drips, and titration of critical medication infusions.
  • Monitor and read Phillips monitors electronically.
  • Troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as vents, Cpap, Bipap, and high-flow devices.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, EMTs, and paraprofessionals.
  • Draw labs as needed or assist radiology services provided on site.
  • Use the EPIC charting system for documentation.
  • Participate in weekend and holiday rotations every other week.

Requirements

  • Valid IL nursing license or confirmation that application has been initiated.
  • Active BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 prior travel assignment preferred.
  • Experience with SANE RN and hospital experience with residents is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with vasopressor drips, cardiac drips, and titration of critical medication infusions.
  • Familiarity with electronically monitoring and reading Phillips monitors.

Schedule

  • 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Assignment duration: 26 weeks (08/31/2026 to 03/01/2027).
  • Weekend and holiday rotations required every other week.
  • No scheduled day/night rotations; travelers are scheduled by management with options for time-off requests and block scheduling.

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
