About the Role
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse providing acute care to patients in a Level IV Trauma, STEMI receiving, and Stroke designated emergency setting. This fast-paced role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care with no administrative or clerical duties.
The ER is a 4-bed unit with 2 trauma bays, treating approximately 10 patients daily. The team includes nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics on call, with charge nurses each shift prioritizing patient care and overseeing operations. Float rotation to Med/Surg and Swing Bed units is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care in a Level IV Trauma, STEMI receiving, and Stroke Center.
- Read and interpret own EKG strips and troubleshoot Mindray monitors.
- Adhere to a 50-mile radius rule and strict RTO policies (upfront requests only).
Requirements
- Valid certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Minimum of 2 years of ER experience and previous Med/Surg experience.
- Active nursing license.
Schedule
- Rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- 12-hour orientation period.
