Travel Emergency Room RN - $1,905 per week

About the role

Emergency Room registered nurses (RN) are needed at a busy healthcare facility located in College Station, Texas. The position involves providing high-quality patient care in a Level III STEMI and Stroke Receiving Emergency Department. RNs will work night shifts in a fast-paced environment that treats an average of 70 patients daily, with specialized units for trauma, stroke, and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department
• Read and interpret tele monitor strips independently
• Draw phlebotomy labs
• Work night shifts including every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Care for trauma, stroke, and pediatric patients

Requirements

• Texas RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications
• 2 years of ER experience
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Ability to read and interpret tele monitor strips

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric emergency care
• Experience in trauma or stroke units

Additional Details

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 PM
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• ER has Level III STEMI and stroke receiving beds, trauma bays, and a dedicated psych/seclusion room
• Security is in-house 24/7
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• RTs perform ABGs, breathing treatments, and operate vents
• No monitor techs used; RNs read strips independently
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3-4 depending on acuity
• Self-scheduling with matrix scheduling options
• Orientation: 1-3 shifts based on experience
• RNs are not responsible for psych patient placement
• Travelers encouraged to extend assignments
• Cancellation policy: up to 4 shift cancellations per 13-week assignment

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
