About the role
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse position is located in Lufkin, Texas. This role involves providing critical nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department environment, managing a variety of trauma, stroke, sepsis, heart failure, and cardiac patients. The role requires adaptability to shift rotations and the ability to work independently within a dynamic setting.
The ER handles approximately 80-90 patients daily with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. The unit features a fast-track area and a triage section, with in-house security and various respiratory therapy responsibilities. Candidates must complete unit-specific orientation and adhere to dress code standards.
The facility requires candidates to have recent emergency room experience, with no history of full time, part time, or PRN employment at related facilities within the past year. Float rotation may be required to other units qualified for.
Schedule
- Rotating shifts
- 12-hour shifts
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Valid ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency nursing
- Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas
- Recent emergency room experience
- No history of full time, part time, or PRN employment at related facilities within the past year
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing trauma and stroke patients
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (Paragon)
