About the role

Emergency Room Nurse in Hopewell, Virginia. This role involves providing urgent and critical care in a busy emergency department environment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and the ability to respond effectively to a variety of emergency situations.

Schedule

• Night shifts, 12 hours per shift
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend shift with at least one Friday and one Monday in the schedule
• No on-call required

Responsibilities

• IV insertions
• ECGs
• Cardioversion
• Central line placement
• Following stroke and sepsis protocols
• Float rotation may be required to our FSED, approximately 15 minutes away

Requirements

• Virginia state nursing license
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• CPI Certification
• 0 years of minimum experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma experience
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Meditech experience

Additional Information

The unit is a 22-bed Emergency Room with approximately 50 staff members, including nurses, techs, and support personnel. Equipment includes Phillips and GE monitors, Level 1 Rapid Infuser, and Meditech (Electronic Medical Record). Candidate should be a team player with excellent communication skills, professional, energetic, and adaptable to change.
