About the role
A Travel Consultant at AAA sells international and domestic travel packages, including cruises, land packages, travel itineraries, air, car, and hotel. They share knowledge and expertise from personal experiences and education study trips, develop long-standing relationships with members, and build referral and repeat business. Consultants make tailored recommendations to exceed member expectations and cross-sell relevant products like the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card or identity theft referrals. Responsibilities
- Sell international and domestic travel packages, including cruises, land packages, air, car, and hotel.
- Share knowledge and expertise from personal experiences and/or education study trips.
- Develop long-standing relationships with members to build referral and repeat business.
- Make tailored recommendations to ensure the trip experience exceeds member expectations.
- Cross-sell relevant products to enhance the trip experience (e.g., AAA Member Rewards Credit Card, identity theft referrals).
- Progress through evaluations for sales, customer service, administrative, and operational proficiencies to advance into leadership roles.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening.
- Preferred: 2+ years of successful retail sales, banking experience, or leisure travel agency background in a goal-oriented environment.
- Available to work most Saturdays and some evenings to support goal achievement.
- Must complete the Travel Consultant Trainee program, which may require travel for training.
Qualifications
- Passion for travel beyond a hobby or interest.
- Driven by sales and exceeding goals.
- Computer-savvy with proficiency in navigating multiple systems, web browsers, Microsoft Office, and typing at least 30 WPM.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort with paperwork.
