Start date: 10/12/2026 for a 26-week travel assignment in Pahala, Hawaii. Setting: Critical Access Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and re-evaluate assigned patients in inpatient and outpatient rehab settings, under OT supervision, to determine ongoing needs
- Plan and implement an ongoing occupational therapy program as prescribed by the ordering physician; select and modify treatment modalities to support functional goals and independence
- Regularly update the treatment plan and any home program; monitor progress, adjust based on patient response and authorization status
- Independently manage a full caseload, document progress, and determine when re-evaluations are appropriate per insurance authorization
- Collaborate with the rehab team; document care in EMR systems (Net Health Therapy and Meditech) and communicate patient status to involved clinicians
- Ensure coverage and compliance with Hawaii state and federal holidays as necessary based on hospital operations
Requirements
- Active Hawaii state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant required by start date
- BLS certification from American Red Cross
- Minimum 2 years of work experience with adults in Outpatient and Acute care settings
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Ability to work in a hospital rehab setting; willingness to work in acute and rehab roles
- Must arrive the Thursday before start date to attend employee health appointment
Pay
Weekly pay: $2,073–$2,166 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.
Schedule
Mon–Fri, 7:30 am–4:00 pm.
