Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Acute Care Job
Travel assignment for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 13-week contract starting 09/28/2026 in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
About the Role
This temporary position provides occupational therapy support for residents requiring rehabilitation services under supervision. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote functional independence in a fast-paced, acute-care or SNF setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations and re-evaluations to determine OT goals and treatment plans
- Implement and adjust evidence-based OT interventions to improve activities of daily living, mobility, balance, strength, and coordination
- Utilize modalities and therapeutic techniques appropriate to an acute rehabilitation or SNF setting; monitor progress and outcomes
- Document patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge recommendations accurately in clinical records
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (PT, nursing, speech therapy, social work) to optimize care and coordinate discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and durable medical equipment needs
Requirements
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license and credentialing appropriate to practice in the United States; state-specific requirements as applicable
- Graduation from an accredited OTA program
- Experience in rehabilitation settings; SNF or acute care experience preferred
- Strong clinical documentation, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a travel assignment with a 5x8 day shift schedule
Pay
Weekly pay range: $1,488–$1,557 per week with guaranteed 36 hours.
Schedule
5x8 Days shift for a 13-week contract.
