About the role

In conjunction with Trauma Services, an Injury Prevention Coordinator is responsible for the planning and coordination of injury prevention activities for identified target populations. The role involves developing, implementing, and evaluating injury prevention programs, serving as a liaison to related agencies and personnel within the community, and establishing short and long-term goals for injury prevention initiatives. The coordinator pursues external funding opportunities and documents system-wide injury prevention activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a healthcare-related field required, with preferred experience in an Injury Prevention & Outreach role or similar, or current certification as EMT-Paramedic.
  • Experience in trauma care preferred.
  • Knowledge of public education, strong organization and planning skills, and the ability to work well with the general public.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing special programs.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Licensure / Certification / Registration

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Child Protective Safety Technician (CPST) certification preferred.
