About the role

Continuously monitors the delivery status of inbound loads, identifies those in jeopardy of not arriving on the requested due date, and provides timely and accurate communication regarding inbound purchase orders in jeopardy of not arriving on the requested due date to develop effective mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Maximizes on-time deliveries into Publix facilities by initiating contact with warehouse receiving departments, suppliers, and manufacturing plants.
  • Tracks seasonal items, highly sensitive items, and expedited transfers.
  • Maintains awareness of delays at shipping and receiving locations to minimize cost to Publix and ensure carriers are compensated for the time delayed.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • One year experience working in Distribution, Transportation, or an analytical field
  • Able to work flexible hours and be available on weekends
  • Able to work extended periods of time
  • Able to successfully complete battery of Clerical & Microsoft Skills Tests before start date
  • Able to be detail oriented
  • Able to handle change on a regular basis
  • Able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner

  • Knowledge of software, systems, and applications used in the Corporate Transportation department (TMS, PC Miler, I-Trade, Publix Host, Marwood-PIMS)
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry
  • Knowledge of United States geography

Qualifications

  • Current Lakeland Distribution associate
  • An associate’s degree in Business, Transportation or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Three years’ clerical experience working in Transportation
