Transportation Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties (e.g. staff, parents, students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.
• Aid with activities related to scheduling, dispatching, routing and tracking transportation vehicles from on-site, inbound and outbound fleet.
• Aid with management of incoming/outgoing communications, including email and phone.
• Sends daily reports to appropriate parties.
• Uses software tools, including CRM, for scheduling, maintenance and other applicable applications.
• Makes recommendations to Transportation Supervisor for cost savings and efficiency improvements by analyzing data and identifying trends/opportunities.
• Ensures that transportation group provides excellent internal and external customer service.
• The position requires the ability to plan and also respond quickly to develop and execute transportation solutions.
• Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• High School Degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read, understand and comply with the rules and regulations of the State and Federal DOT.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences, including phone and email etiquette.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, ever-changing organization.
• A superior work ethic.
• Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Bilingual.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required.
• Should be able to sit at a desk and computer screen in a shared office environment for 8+ hours per day.
• This role is considered essential and may be required to work during weather emergencies or business closures in order to meet operational requirements.
