Transportation Operations Supervisor

About the role

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, engaging with teams, and solving real-time operational challenges. As a Transportation Operations Supervisor, you’ll be tasked with overseeing and coordinating all ground-level activities related to aircraft catering and loading, actively monitoring performance and safety, and leading by example to foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily ramp operations, including loading and unloading of catering equipment and supplies.
• Manages ramp personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Ensures compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, and TSA guidelines.
• Conducts regular safety inspections and training sessions.
• Captures and coordinates with flight operations and catering teams to ensure timely and accurate loading of aircraft.
• Maintains accurate records and reports on ramp activities and performance metrics.
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Previous experience in ramp operations, distribution, logistics or a related field.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate ground service equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous airline catering or aviation logistics experience.
• Experience with labor control and forecasting.
• Strong incident reporting, compliance, and documentation skills.

Skills

• Proficiency with work force management scheduling and reporting tools.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
