Transportation Dispatcher - Overnights

About the role

We are seeking Dispatchers to join our team at US FOODS®. This position requires a strong commitment to integrity and reliability, along with the ability to build trust with team members.

Responsibilities

• Notify managers/supervisors and safety specialists of vehicle accidents or driver injuries.
• Coordinate driver activities to avoid hours of service violations.
• Ensure drivers are using Omnitracs correctly.
• Assign backhauls efficiently.
• Reassign routes as necessary.
• Inspect drivers' appearances and ensure they have required PPE.
• Coordinate shuttle assignments to reduce downtime and overtime.
• Complete attendance reports.
• Distribute intercompany mail to the sales force.
• Communicate with the sales force and operations management about service issues.
• Handle other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of transportation experience.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and driver's logs.
• Organized and detail-oriented with legible handwriting.
• Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• CDL A license preferred.

Pay

$25.00/hr. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.

Schedule

Sunday 8:00pm - 4:30am and Monday - Thursday 9:30pm - 6:00am.
