Responsibilities
- Lead the team in ensuring the timely and complete delivery of all orders.
- Prepare and plan strategies to meet the operation’s daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
- Work closely with senior management in pursuit of operational excellence and facility success, including achieving performance goals related to productivity, accuracy, and budget.
- Make recommendations and improvements to department processes and procedures.
- Participate in the hiring, training, and coaching of associates.
- Use operational reports to evaluate department performance and ensure expectations are met.
- Ensure safe work practices and foster a safety culture.
- Play an essential leadership role in the success of Staples Supply Chain as we deliver to our customers.
Requirements
- Ability to accurately calculate, plan, and adjust headcount required to meet objectives.
- Foster communication and teamwork among staff and collaborate with all team members to ensure successful customer outcomes.
- Understanding of transportation systems and processes, productivity standards, and technology.
- Functional knowledge of coaching drivers through check rides.
- Ability to adopt safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices.

- Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Basic English language skills (verbal and written communications).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of transportation experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history acceptable to the company; must remain eligible to drive a commercial motor vehicle under applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen to the extent legally permissible.
- Must obtain a 6-month DOT medical card specific to the role.
- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, or carry product up to a maximum of 70 pounds by hand.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
