About the role
The Delivery Operations Supervisor will lead the team in ensuring the timely and complete delivery of all orders. This role involves preparing and planning strategies to meet the operation’s daily, weekly, and monthly goals, collaborating with senior management, and making recommendations and improvements to department processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team in ensuring timely and complete delivery of all orders
- Prepare and plan strategies to meet the operation’s daily, weekly, and monthly goals
- Work closely with senior management to achieve operational excellence and overall success
- Make recommendations and improvements to department processes and procedures
- Participate in the hiring, training, and coaching of associates
- Evaluate department performance using operational reports and ensure expectations are met
- Ensure safe work practices and foster a safety culture
- Be an essential leader in Staples Supply Chain to support customer delivery success
Requirements
- Ability to accurately calculate and plan headcount to meet objectives
- Foster communication and teamwork among staff and collaborate with all team members
- Understand and work knowledgeably with transportation systems and processes, productivity standards, and technology
- Functional knowledge of coaching drivers through check rides
- Able to adopt safety procedures and ensure safe work practices
- Inclusive nature that seeks common ground, listens to others, and advocates for the best solutions for customers and employees
- Commitment to leading by example and having a growth mindset as a leader, customer advocate, and contributor
- Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Basic English language skills (verbal and written)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of transportation experience
- Valid drivers' license with a safe driving record
- Pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Obtain a 6-month DOT medical card specific to the role
- Able to lift, lower, push, pull or carry product up to 70 pounds by hand
- At least 21 years of age

8:00am-4:30pm Wednesday-Sunday (Shift hours may flex based on business need.)
