Miami Jewish Health is one of the largest providers of healthcare and living options for aging adults in the Southeast. We operate Florida PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) Centers, the largest PACE program in Florida, which serves as health plan, healthcare provider, and social center designed for older adults with complex medical needs. About the role

Under general supervision of the Transportation Manager, plans, organizes and implements the transportation services of the Day Health Center. This role will also apply at Broward PACE Program sites.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates all scheduling activities related to transportation for MJH / PACE participants
  • Supervises daily the activities of the Drivers
  • Provides Human Resources Management in conjunction with the Transportation Manager of Drivers
  • Responsible for coordination of all outside service providers of transportation
  • Monitors drivers and ensures the safe operation of company vehicles
  • Assures all necessary program records are maintained according to policy
  • Completes other job duties related to the care and well-being of MJH PACE participants as assigned
  • Participates in department meetings and in-services as necessary
  • Ensures that resident’s/patient’s rights are adhered to
  • Demonstrates professionalism and accountability
  • Demonstrates a caring attitude consistent with Miami Jewish EmpathicareSM toward MJH residents, patients, family members, employees, and other facility guests
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills
  • Ensures confidentiality and security of patients’ medical information

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Current Florida Driver’s License Class A, B or C with passenger endorsement
  • Proof of car insurance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Dade and Broward County streets
  • Ability to deal with physical and emotionally frail, elderly and/or disabled persons
  • Ability to get in and out of the buses constantly to assist passengers
  • Must attend and pass safety driving program annually, and maintain good driving record
  • Operates equipment to assist disabled persons

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a driving background investigation, which includes verification of a valid driver’s license and review of your motor vehicle record to ensure compliance with company and legal standards. Miami Jewish Health requires a Level II background screening in accordance with Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) regulations as part of the onboarding process for all new hires.
