About the role
The Logistics Coordinator oversees the shipping and receiving of finished goods, packaging, raw materials, machinery, and other items to and from Amneal facilities and affiliates, both domestic and international. This position assists in daily logistics operations and provides feedback to the Supervisor of Logistics.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates daily activity to track location and movement of inventory, finished goods, packaging, raw materials, machinery, etc., via rail cars, barges, trucks, and other forms of transportation.
- Obtains shipping rates for all transportation requests to ensure the most cost-effective, secure, and timely manner.
- Coordinates international shipping processes, ensuring clearance and delivery for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Works directly with Freight Forwarders, Brokers, and other partners to ensure a smooth process from Shipper to Consignee.
- Utilizes various transportation provider software systems to facilitate material movement planning and scheduling.
- Prepares and updates monthly reports and communicates any issues to the Supervisor.
- Verifies shipping quotes, both domestic and international, to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.
- Re-routes freight as needed to meet demands and minimize costs.
- Supports and backs up Inventory Control as needed.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and execution of transportation/logistics software.
- Provides support to multiple departments within the organization as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all state, federal, environmental, safety, and hazardous waste regulations.
- Communicates fulfillment status and/or issues within the organization to Logistics Management, Sales, and Customer Service.
- Maintains documentation and ratings on carriers, including Cargo Liability Certificates, Hazmat Certification, Safety Ratings, and Interstate Commerce Authority.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED (required).
- 3+ years of experience in Logistics, Warehouse, or Distribution.
- 3+ years of experience in Administrative, Office, or Customer Service roles.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (required).
- Experience with JD Edwards (preferred).
