Transportation Assistant - 1st shift
Overview
The Transportation Assistant shall provide for the arrangement of material movement of commercial carrier pick-up and delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepares staging labels to be placed on cargo, ensuring it is loaded in the proper equipment.
- Assigns seal numbers to each domestic shipment to ensure the cargo is secure and not tampered with while in transit.
- Maintains spreadsheet on domestic shipment reports for accountability.
- Signed proof of delivery from the receiver on the delivery date.
- Maintains weekly, monthly, and yearly reports of domestic shipments.
Supervisory Responsibilities
There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
Education And/or Experience
Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) experience preferred. High School diploma/ bachelor’s degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Driving may be necessary.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude towards work and the team.
- Ability to operate skid steer, backhoe, mini-excavator, loader, trencher, etc.
