Transportation Coordinator (1st Shift)

About the Role

Under the direction of the Area Manager, the Transportation Coordinator supports all inbound and outbound load plans for the distribution center. The Transportation Coordinator monitors all site-related traffic activities to ensure compliance with corporate transportation's strategic goals and assures that freight is handled expediently with fiscal responsibility.

This role is onsite and will require you to work from our Suffolk, VA location daily. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and coordinates movements of equipment to the yard drivers for the different departments.
• Monitors and records cube use through established baselines of cost per unit.
• Records and transmits data to multiple USPS/UPS hubs to ensure accurate forecasting of arrival and departure information.
• Prepares and publishes weekly and monthly service reports for all areas of outbound and inbound shipments, including UPS line haul, RTV shipments, cost avoidance, show control, inbound trailer aging, and prepaid/collect freight concerns.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
• 1 to 2 years of transportation-related experience is required, with a broad knowledge of high-volume fulfillment operations gained through routing and logistics.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Proficiency in using various computer applications.
• Ability to stand/sit or work on elevated surfaces for the duration of the shift.
• Must be able to work assigned shift hours and additional hours when necessary to meet business needs.

Schedule

Two schedule options are available:

• Sunday - Wednesday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Wednesday - Saturday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
