Transportation Assistant - 1st shift

1st shift temporary position, Monday through Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Prepares staging labels to be placed on cargo, ensuring it is loaded in the proper equipment.
• Assigns seal numbers to each domestic shipment to ensure the cargo is secure and not tampered with while in transit.
• Monitors shipment from the time the driver leaves the warehouse until receipt of shipment at destination.
• Processes Bill of Lading once the bolted seal is placed in the door of the equipment.
• Ensures that all domestic shipments are noted in the weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.
• Maintains spreadsheet on domestic shipment reports for accountability.
• Signs proof of delivery from the receiver on the delivery date.

Requirements

• Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) experience preferred.
• High School diploma or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to work as a team member and demonstrate a positive attitude.
• Ability to operate skid steer, backhoe, mini-excavator, loader, trencher, etc.

Skills

• Driving may be necessary.
