About the role

We are currently seeking Transmission Line Project Engineers to join our Power Delivery team. This role involves designing high voltage transmission lines and working independently or supervising less-experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical aspects and deliverables for transmission line design using PLS-CADD and foundation design software like L-Pile, MFAD, or Caisson.
  • Coordinate the preparation of construction release packages including plan and profile drawings, structure load trees, assembly details, stringing charts, foundation schedules, and bill of materials.
  • Assign tasks to junior team members and conduct quality control reviews for their work.
  • Identify and implement learning opportunities for junior team members through job shadowing, specific project assignments, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Conduct engineering analyses to develop design options and provide input on specific project design issues.
  • Assist with preparing cost estimates and schedules, and attend client meetings and lead design reviews.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets, and perform site visits during various stages of projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit)
  • Experience in foundations design using software like L-Pile, Caisson, or MFAD (preferred)
  • Experience with renewables developers and interconnection of renewables (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing project manhour and cost estimates and schedules
  • Exposure to renewables and interconnection of renewables
