Job Duties

  • Serve as a real-time resource for operators, providing assistance during service.
  • Monitor and correct operators on proper work procedures, safety, customer service, and company policies.
  • Perform Time Point Checks and Ride Checks, and complete reports to ensure punctuality and quality of service.
  • Communicate operational issues to RCC and escalate concerns to relevant personnel to maintain schedules and objectives.
  • Initiate commendations and discipline actions, recommend training, and make independent reasonable suspicion determinations regarding drug and alcohol testing.
  • Provide customer service by addressing complaints, coordinating disputes, and managing special events.
  • Ensure coaches are maintained by performing routine checks and repairs.
  • Manage accident scenes, investigate incidents, and report findings according to authority policy.
  • Oversee and enforce compliance with labor agreements, EEO, ADA, and company policies.
  • Facilitate team-building activities and promote a positive work environment.
  • Assist in emergency operations and serve as an essential employee during weather-related events.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet performance goals and objectives, and recognize achievements.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, writing, and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to assess and develop employee skills, providing constructive feedback.
  • Energetic and innovative leadership qualities, committed to continuous improvement and creative solutions.
  • High standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
  • Proficient in using computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
  • Experience with Trapeze software is beneficial.
  • A valid driver’s license with Class B CDL and passenger and airbrake endorsements.

Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of digital cameras, radios, and OTP (On-Time Performance).
  • Understanding of the Metro system and routes.

Education & Experience

  • Associate's Degree preferred, particularly in a field related to public transportation.
  • Three to five years as a coach operator, with supervisory experience being advantageous.
