About the role

The Training Specialist is responsible for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and coordination of training for a variety of developmental topics across various employee levels to support operational needs and meet contract requirements. This role involves creating reports and maintaining training records for all required contracts and company training.

Responsibilities

  • Support curriculum development for training-related projects, managing them from inception to release and ensuring content is maintained after launch.
  • Create content for training programs delivered through different platforms based on project needs.
  • Manage current training content and transfer to e-Learning modules as needed.
  • Assign trainings and maintain training records for all employees, producing reports as required.
  • Ensure content and structure of all training documents are documented and maintained in the appropriate repository.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the quality and efficiency of training processes by evaluating instructor performance and training program effectiveness, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop training materials (course outlines, background material, training aids) and learner materials (workbooks, handouts, completion certificates, program feedback forms) using industry best practices and customer requirements.
  • Facilitate individual or group training sessions through various modalities for adult learners.
  • Coordinate with departments and employees to create, communicate, and track training schedules and progress.
  • Respond to questions from staff and trainees regarding training information, travel, registrations, policies, and procedures via email, text, or phone.
  • Gather information and survey data to identify weaknesses and areas needing additional training.
  • Perform research to stay current with learning trends, instructional design techniques, technology, and facilitation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (an associate degree with two or more years of extra training experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree, or more than four years of related experience with a high school diploma or equivalent may substitute for a degree).
  • 2 or more years of experience in curriculum development and facilitating training for adult learners.
  • Ability to create innovative and engaging training materials and assist in administering training.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of training assessment and evaluation processes.
  • Extensive experience using technologies to create and deliver trainings, including software programs and LMS systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to travel to site locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous HR Generalist or HR Administrative experience.

Schedule

This position is mission-critical and essential to ongoing operations, requiring a flexible schedule to support a 24/7/365-day operation. Work may include evenings, weekends, and travel to accommodate different time zones and projects.

Security Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Favorable credit check.
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation and drug screen.

Physical Requirements

  • Working Environment: Primarily remote but must be available onsite as needed.
  • Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must be able to stand for extended periods and have mobility to attend meetings.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 0 – 10%
  • Sitting: Prolonged and extended periods of time.
  • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Fine Motor Skills/Dexterity: Must be able to write, type, and use a telephone system 100% of the time.
