About the role
The Training Manager will support the implementation of the Huron Grants and Agreements system by developing, implementing, and managing training guidance and processes that ensure compliance with accounting principles, sponsor requirements, state and federal guidelines, and University policies. This position reports to the Executive Director of Research Intelligence and Operations and, ideally, will have experience in research administration. We are embarking on a new model to support school and central administrators, specifically the onboarding of new administrators, ensuring they have the foundation to be successful and thrive in their roles. This work will support our faculty and their needs for strong grant and finance administrators.Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage training guidance and processes for the Huron Grants and Agreements system.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, sponsor requirements, state and federal guidelines, and University policies.
- Support the onboarding of new administrators, ensuring they have the foundation to be successful and thrive in their roles.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of the Huron system.
- Assist with the implementation of the Huron system, with the possibility of extending to a recurring role.
- Participate in the development of training materials and resources for the Huron system.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of related experience, Bachelor's preferred, but experience may serve in place of education.
- Experience in research administration is desirable but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of research administration and grant management systems.
- Experience with financial reporting and compliance.
- Understanding of federal and state regulations related to research funding.
- Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
